Dima is 8th youngest out of 9 siblings from a large family from a village of the Rivne region. Suddenly, the child became capricious, began to complain of headaches and vomiting.
With these symptoms Dima was treated for food poisoning at a local hospital three times, before they realized that he needs a CT. A CT scan showed the presence of tumor and hydrocephalus … Bypass. 2 revisions.
Dima was brought to Kiev in a serious condition (practically in a coma) as the last hope for salvation.
And now, after nine days of tests and treatment here, Dima is little better. He began to open his eyes and speak a little. Tumor is serious. The surgery is planned in two stages.
We estimated the expenses at about 25-30 thousand UAH ($1,175-$1,410). Dima and his family do not have such a funds. Help is needed.

had a full check-up — the tumor hasn’t grown in four months! During this time Dima was developing well — started waking, talking, has good appetite. His mother had to decide between two possible courses of treatment: 1) surgery — but no one knows how it will go and how Dima will recover; 2) leave the tumor as it is, and come back for check-ups regularly, since it doesn’t seem to affect Dima’s development. The doctors recommend the second option, which is also what his mother chose. She asks everyone to keep her Dima in their prayers.

You can’t even recognize him! This spring he was so weak he could barely open his eyes… And now — he started walking three weeks ago and knows how to give ‘high five’. He’s very sociable, doesn’t want to sit in his room, walks the hallways all the time! They came in for a check-up (MRI), to see how the tumor is doing.

24/6/15 Update
Inpatient treatment helped a bit and improved Dima’s condition. The child needs time for recovery before the tumor removal surgery. He’s been sent home for 2-3 weeks now. In the meantime, we need to raise funds for Dima’s surgery and postop treatment.
