There are about 100 children living at the “Nadiya” orphanage in Pryluky. Some of them are children with disabilities. Three of them are under our care (as they require neurosurgical treatment). The orphanage doesn’t have hot water. They’ve asked us to buy 4 heating boilers, 100 liters each, so they could bathe the children. As it turned out, however, before putting in new boilers they need to replace the old wiring.

Barely kept myself from posting these pictures yesterday, but decided to let them make our saturday!
Beautiful! Hot water in all the children’s groups of Prylutskiy Orphanage.
As it turns out, however, two more boilers are needed for hydrotherapeutic procedures room. Kids get hydromassages and special bath treatments.

Spent most of the day at the Children’s Home in Pryluky today
1) Checked the work done on replacing the old wiring in the second building. It’s all good!
2) Stayed until the four boilers were delivered! Thank you everyone who participated in this great project. In only a few days time there will be hot water in all the bathrooms.

14/8/15  Update

The electricians are finishing up the work on the the second building wiring. So, it is time to buy the boilers. We need four of them. We have chosen: GORENJE GBF 100 T/V9 with manual control system (follow the link for details: http://bt.rozetka.com.ua/gorenje-gbf-100-tv9/p402339/). The price of one boiler is 3,150 UAH ($150). The total price including delivery is 13,180 UAH ($630).

3/8/15 Update

Friends, we have started work on replacing the old wirirng at the second building. We  have finished work on the first building two weeks ago.

We are running a bit short on the funds, but we managed to save some on the purchase of the fruit puree (raised 5,ooo UAH, spent 2,729 UAH), so we used it for the repairs. We also have to borrow some money from our «for emergencies» fund.

23/7/15 Update

The replacement of the old wiring in the first building of the Prilutsky orphanage is finished. Yay!! :))

Now we have to fix the second building and we can start with the boilers.

3/7/15 Update

Workers at the Prylutskiy Orphanage have started replacing the old wiring. At the moment, we have only raised money and paid for work on the first building. The work needs to be done so that new electric boilers could be put in (to have hot water for bathing children).

25/6/15 Update
Today we paid for the replacement of the old wiring in the first building of the orphanage. 28,000 UAH ($1,300). This was made possible mainly by the LLC “MTK”, which covered most of the total amount. Thank you!!

The company, which is going to be doing electrical work on the Prilytskiy Orphanage has given us the cost estimate — 43,101 UAH ($2,050) for both buildings.

As for the boilers. We still haven’t ordered them. And here’s the hold up — old wiring. There is no guarantee that it can withstand the required voltage. Therefore, before we can move forward with the boilers, we need to replace the old wiring… Dealing with one problem always uncovers another one.

3 boilers, 100 liters each for heating up water. As you understand, this is necessary because using pots to heat up water in order to bathe 100 children is simply impossible. We don’t know the exact amount yet, looking for the best option (good quality and relatively inexpensive). We’re thinking that each boiler will cost about 3,000UAH ($140).
