On March 25th 2015 the boy was hit by a car. The craniocerebral injury resulted in hemorrhage, haematoma, brain swelling and as a result — arachnoid cyst in the fronto-temporal-parietal region. He had shut placement surgery in September.

In October Omar’s mother suspected that the shunt isn’t working properly, so they came to the Institute of Neurosurgery in Kiev. The MRI showed that Omar’s mother was right. He is now waiting for a shunt revision or replacement surgery.
We need to raise about 30,000 UAH for the surgery. 20,000 UAH ($900) the shunt itself, 10,000 UAH ($450) — medication.
Omar’s mother is raising him on her own. He has no such funds.

Omar as a very difficult surgery done and was transferred back to his room late last night. He is a fighter; he’s already joking, trying to support his mother. She is very worried. Omar had an endoscopy and a drainage placement surgery. The old shunt had to be removed, as it wasn’t working at all.
