Annual Report 2015
Friends, another year is behind us! Our new successes and failures, miracles…
In 2015 we managed to provide help for nearly twice as much as in the year before. 2 million UAH. And this isn’t due to any big companies or rich donors, it’s just us: regular people, small businesses. More than often a child’s life was saved thanks to the 100-150-200 UAH donations… We have more regular donors, who give to certain programs on a regular basis. In 2015 we have started new programs, started taking an active part in the rehabilitation on our orphan kids. The number of our volunteers increased! It’s all thanks to you! Thank you so much for being with us!

Treatment Funding
Includes the purchase of everything necessary for to perform surgeries and for the post-surgical treatment of the children with neurosurgical diagnoses: antibiotics, blood medication, shunting systems, surgical kits, etc, as well as clothes, baby bottles, formula, diapers, etc – when necessary.
In 2015 we managed to help 60 children in need of neurosurgical treatment. Most of them were getting treatment at the Institute of Neurosurgery in Kiev, eight of them – at the Ohmatdet, three of them were abandoned by their families at the hospital, two of them were brought from the orphanages. Seven of our children have passed away. May they rest in peace.
Altogether we have spent 990,383.07 UAH on treatment funding with an average of 16,500 UAH per child. Last year the average amount was 10,000 UAH and two years ago – 5-6,000 UAH for one child. So in last two years, because of the exchange rate and the taxes on medication it became three times as expensive to get treatment.

Urgent Kids Fund
For the kids brought in by ambulances, as well as those who need urgent surgery with no time for a fundraiser. These happen a lot. Sometimes the mother is still at the hospital after having a C-section and her baby is already having surgery at the Institute. In such cases the child’s life often depends on the Urgent Kids Fund.
In 2015 the Urgent Kids Fund was 145,692.65 UAH
Medical equipment, disposables and household needs
A very important part of our spending and also the one that is extremely hard to raise funds for. Without it, however, both surgical rooms and ICUs wouldn’t be able to work.

Patronage Program for the neurosurgical kids at the orphanages of Ukraine
The program grew bigger :)) We have about 30 children from four different orphanages under our supervision now. What we do: visit, make arrangements for consults, take the kids for checkups, buy medications and specialized formula/baby food, help with medical and social rehabilitation. The program is completely volunteer based.
Specialized Regional Orphanage in Boyarka
8-10 kids in our care + regular help with food, medication and diapers for the other 70 kids.
Our physical therapy specialist comes to the orphanage three times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8am to 12-2pm depending on the number of kids.
Twice a week our volunteers visit the children: on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
So someone from our organization is in Boyarka every day of the week To join this program contact Katerina Kerez.

Volunteer Network «Agents 031″
At the beginning of the 015 our group had 147 members. In the past year we doubled that number, and at the beginning of 2016 we are 294 Agents 031.
1. We continued with the «Meal Support» Program for the low-income mothers and children who were left at the hospital with no support from the relatives. The program consists of two meals + groceries per week throught the entire treatment of the child. We provided «Meal Support» to 15 families in 2015.
2. We continued with the «Pie Day» Program — we bring homemade pies to the Instittue of Neurosurgery once every season and hang out with teh mothers. We also didn’t forget about the wounded soldiers at the Neurosurgical department.
3. This year there’s twice as many of us as before, so we had not one, but two volunteer repariment and butifying sessions in and around the garden at the Institute of Neurosurgery! A huge help to us turned out to be Jullia Raschkovska, who brought 30 helpers from the Ecology College with her! Thanks to the team from Google Ukraine, who came to help as well :))
4. Thanks to all the agents, who sent parcels to the ATO zone for the mothers of the disabled children. While politicians and military officers are dealing with the coutry’s issues, these families are the most vulnerable. The medications and clothes that we sentd are of huge help to them.
5. Surprise: organized by two Agents: Yaroslava Bilousova and Lesya Pavliy organized a charity fair at the Public School #211. All raised funds (over 10,000 UAH) were trasferred to our official account and helped the kids from low-income families get treatment.
6. During the summer, Tatyana Gordeeva had to urgently go to Zaporizzhya region, to the regional hospital to check up on the planned surgery of a orphan baby. The surgeons in Zaporizzhya were planning on having two very complicated surgeries at the same time… and we were thinking of bringing the baby to the Institute in Kyiv. The story went on for a while, but ended with the best possible options — the baby’s mother came back :)))
7. Another thank you goes out to the Agents who gave donated their Birthdays to teh Foundation. They asked for donation to our account instead of all the gifts. We got five Birthdays this year — we think it’s a lot :))
8. This year our Agents were responsible for setting up the «Katrusya’s cinema» and showing cartoons at the Institute. Every agent know, that smiles and laughter help the treatment :))
9. Same as before, we’ve completed numerous small, but very important tasks, such as picking stuff up, bring it places, finding stuff, packing, sending, loading, etc…
Agents, thank you for being with us! Happy to know each and every one of you!
